Simon Carmody is an AFI trained storyteller with extensive experience in the film, television and advertising industries.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Simon worked as an advertising-stills photographer before moving to the U.S. in 2001, to attend film school. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans , Simon worked at Côte Blanche Productions as an editor, alongside award winning filmmakers, Glen Pitre and Michelle Benoit.

In 2010, after graduating from The American Film Institute’s MFA Editing program, Simon set up his freelance editing operation in the Hollywood Hills. Working with clients in Los Angeles and New Orleans he edited and produced narrative and documentary feature films, unscripted television and national advertising campaigns.

In 2023, Simon returned home to Australia. Where he now lives, and works as a storyteller in Sydney.
